The Australian version of the American Country Music awards was recently held where three of the Australian country music industry?s most famous singers were recognized by that country?s awards show with Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole and Shane Nicholson all picking up awards at the Golden Guitar Awards that were held at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Cole won the award for best female artist of the year after releasing a successful album of new sounds and music loops called ?Songs & Pictures.?
The album of the year at the awards show went to Adam Harvey who had released an album called ?Falling into Place.? The song of the year went to Shane Nicholson who won for his song called, ?Bad Machines.? The three winners got to commiserate after the awards show and were all extremely excited to have won their awards and each suggested that they felt honored to have won. Overall, Shane Nicholson has now won six total awards from various shows as he had already won a total of five awards in the past.
Other artists who won awards at the Australian even included Keith Urban, who won an award for being the male artist of the year, O?Shea who was lauded as the new talent of the year and The Bushwhackers who released a song called ?I Am Australian? and won the heritage song award. Overall it would seem that popular country music won out during the festival and that the Australian country music industry is alive and kicking Down Under.
