IRVING ? Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle has come by Valley Ranch a few times over the last couple of years.
He has attended practices and sat in on coaching meetings. And according to Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, the team loves having him.
?Rick just likes to come by,? Garrett said Saturday. ?He and I have gotten to know each other over the last couple of years. He?s a good friend and a great resource. He loves sports.?
Garrett said Carlisle also spoke this summer at an annual football camp that Garrett hosts at Princeton University.
?He?s had a ton of success through his career, both as a player and as a coach,? Garrett said. ?I told him he?s more than welcome to come here anytime he wants to be here. We love having him around.?
