BEDFORD, NH -- The disruption by "Occupy the New Hampshire Primary" protesters minutes into Mitt Romney's speech at a Bedford elementary school was the latest in weeks marked by similar outbursts at candidates' events across the Granite State.

Though his poll numbers have declined in the past several days, the former Republican governor of neighboring Massachusetts is still the overwhelming favorite in New Hampshire.

Many New Hampshire voters after the event told KVUE the decision to support Romney didn't come without difficulty. Of the candidates from Texas, many said they felt Ron Paul was the strongest contender.

"Congressman Paul?is going to do very well tomorrow," said Dennis Cronin, who said he admired Rick Perry and was disappointed to see him fall so far in the polls.

"He's just not up to it at this time," said David Sherman, who told KVUE he initially favored Michele Bachmann and was strongly against Ron Paul's stance on foreign policy.

Christine Riccio, a longtime Romney supporter, said she agreed with much of Perry's message, but questioned his electability.

"I do like his point of view," said Riccio, "But sadly you've kind of got to go with more the guy you think is going to get the nomination and get the president out of office."

It was the conclusion of a busy day in what has become a media circus stationed in New Hampshire's largest city, Manchester, where locals and out-of-towners crowded the city center.

Many stood waving signs and shouting their support for their candidate, while others came from hours away simply to see the show.

"It's actually really exciting ?to go around and listen to the candidates speak," said Taylor Sokol, a college student from New York who made the five hour trip by bus for a front row seat at the first in the nation primary.

Erik Van Winkle, cook at nearby diner Greg's Place, told KVUE the visitors bring business even if it takes a little getting used to.

"It's very interesting. You can't really go anywhere without a TV crew asking what your opinion is or being on TV somewhere, so it's not bad," he said.

KVUE's coverage continues as the primary voting gets underway Tuesday morning.
